Uptime Kuma Monitoring

Uptime Kuma 2.5.5 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, ready to run on your own EC2 instance. It checks your websites and services over HTTP, TCP, DNS and ping, keeps the history in SQLite, and shows it all in a private HTTPS dashboard. Nothing listens on a public interface: you open the dashboard through AWS Systems Manager port forwarding.

Launch on AWS Marketplace Getting started

What is included

  • Uptime Kuma 2.5.5, built from the pinned release with a pinned Node.js 24.21.0 runtime.
  • SQLite monitor store in /var/lib/uptime-kuma/.
  • HTTP, TCP, DNS and ping checks, and webhook notifications to an address you choose.
  • nginx as a loopback HTTPS proxy in front of Uptime Kuma.
  • Per-instance identity. First boot creates this instance's TLS certificate and a random password for the admin account. The image itself contains no password, certificate or database.
  • A built-in walkthrough at /opt/sushi/docs/demo.sh that checks the installation for you.

Not included: browser (Chromium) monitors, MariaDB, Cloudflared and Apprise.

Ports

Port Protocol Listens on Purpose
8443 HTTPS 127.0.0.1, [::1] Dashboard and status pages, through nginx
3001 HTTP 127.0.0.1 Uptime Kuma itself. Leave it on loopback.

No inbound security group rule is needed. You reach the dashboard with Session Manager port forwarding.

Billing

The software is billed per running instance-hour on t3.medium, as set out in the AWS Marketplace offer terms. Check the listing for the current price and any free trial. AWS bills EC2, EBS and data transfer separately.
