Troubleshooting¶
Resolve connection problems and check why a speech request is slow or rejected.
The walkthrough does not finish¶
Cause: cloud-init has not finished, or you are still ssm-user.
Fix: wait for cloud-init, then:
You cannot reach port 8094¶
Cause: the tunnel is not running. Session Manager does not need an inbound rule, and an inbound rule is not how the listing tells you to connect.
Fix: start the forward in
Open port 8094 and leave it open.
Read the access file from /opt/sushi/docs/README.md. Do not print the
token.
Speech is slow¶
Cause: t3.large is the evaluation size. The listing says it is slower
than c7i.2xlarge.
Fix: use c7i.2xlarge with at least 64 GiB of encrypted gp3 storage
when you need the recommended speed. The software rate on the listing is
USD 0.03 per hour for both sizes. EC2 cost still differs.
A sentence is rejected¶
Cause: the service generates one English sentence at a time, from a 6 to 8 second sample you are allowed to use.
Fix: shorten the text to one sentence and confirm the sample length. Details of the request body are in the image notes.
