Getting started¶
Launch Chatterbox, run the walkthrough, and forward port 8094.
You need: an AWS account that can subscribe on AWS Marketplace, launch EC2, and start Session Manager. Install the AWS CLI and the Session Manager plugin on your workstation. You also need a 6 to 8 second voice sample you own or are allowed to use.
1. Subscribe¶
Open the Chatterbox listing, choose View purchase options, review the terms, and subscribe. When the subscription is active, choose Launch your software.
2. Launch the instance¶
- Choose c7i.2xlarge, or t3.large if you are evaluating and can accept a slower result.
- Use an encrypted gp3 root volume of at least 64 GiB on the recommended
c7i.2xlarge. - Require IMDSv2.
- Attach an instance profile that can use Session Manager. No key pair and no inbound application rule are required for Session Manager.
- Choose Launch instance.
3. Connect and run the walkthrough¶
Session Manager starts as ssm-user. Wait for cloud-init, then:
The access file and the first sentence are in
/opt/sushi/docs/README.md on the instance. Do not print the token into a
ticket.
4. Open port 8094¶
Forward port 8094 with Session Manager. The listing also allows an SSH
tunnel to that port. Replace <instance-id>:
aws ssm start-session --target <instance-id> \
--document-name AWS-StartPortForwardingSession \
--parameters '{"portNumber":["8094"],"localPortNumber":["8094"]}'
Leave the session open. Use the access file from the image notes. Send one English sentence at a time.
5. Keep the clips¶
Back up stored clips before you replace the instance. See Operations.
