Gatus Status Page¶
Gatus v5.37.0 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, ready to run on your own EC2 instance. It checks your endpoints over HTTP, TCP and DNS, keeps the history in SQLite, and shows the results on a private HTTPS status page. Gatus listens on loopback only: you open the page through AWS Systems Manager port forwarding.
Launch on AWS Marketplace Getting started
What is included¶
- Gatus v5.37.0, compiled from the pinned upstream source and installed
at
/usr/local/bin/gatus. - SQLite history in
/var/lib/gatus/data/gatus.db. - One YAML file for everything:
/etc/gatus/config.yaml. - Per-instance identity. First boot creates this instance's self-signed
TLS certificate and a random password for the
adminuser. The image contains no password, certificate or database. - Basic authentication on the statuses API.
- Three starter checks against the instance itself (HTTPS, TCP and DNS), so the page shows data straight away.
- A built-in walkthrough at
/opt/sushi/docs/demo.sh.
Ports¶
| Port | Protocol | Listens on | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|

Status page, /health and the API |
No inbound security group rule is needed.
Billing¶
The software is billed per running instance-hour on t3.medium, as set out
in the AWS Marketplace offer terms. Check the listing for the current price
and any free trial. AWS bills EC2, EBS and data transfer separately.
Where to go next¶
- Getting started: subscribe, launch and open the status page.
- Configuration: add your own endpoints and change the page.
- Operations: security, updates, backups, logs and support.
- Troubleshooting: fixes for common problems.
Upstream project¶
Gatus is developed by TwiN and published under the Apache-2.0 license. Software Sushi packages it independently; this offer does not include TwiN support. See the Gatus project on GitHub for the full configuration reference.
