Troubleshooting¶

Resolve crawler startup, TLS, and empty-page results.

The crawler is not up¶

Cause: cloud-init has not finished. First boot creates the certificate and token and then starts the service on port 8447.

Fix: wait for cloud-init, then:

sudo -iu ubuntu bash /opt/sushi/docs/demo.sh

Do not print the token while you retry.

Cause: the client does not trust this instance's certificate.

Fix: trust the certificate from this instance before you call port 8447. Do not disable verification. The forward is in Call the API.

Cause: the listing says the headless browser is there for pages that need JavaScript. It does not promise every site can be fetched.

Fix: confirm the URL from the instance notes' request shape, and read the error in the demo output before you change the image.
